John F. Walsh, with more than 35 years experience in aerospace, started his own consulting service in 1993 which specializes in forecasting the commercial aviation markets and the identification of new business opportunities in all major segments of the Aerospace Industry.
A variety of analytical tools and techniques have been developed to assist in the prediction of the major turning points in the marketplace as well as the future direction of individual aerospace programs.
John has an extensive background in forecasting the various elements of the aviation industry having seen the market from a major aerospace manufacturing subcontractor perspective for 20 years prior to starting his consultancy service.
John has been interviewed on The Nightly Business Report (PBS Television) and the BBC. His press includes articles from The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, Bloomberg News, Aviation Week, Aviation Daily, SpeedNews, Flight International, Air Transport World, Forbes, Fortune, and Economic Times (The Conference Board).
He is a member of the Executive Council for Air Transportation Research International Forum (ATRIF) and is a past president of that organization. He is also a member of the Committee on Aviation Economics and Forecasting for the Transportation Research Board. He is the aerospace member for the Conference of Business Economists. A graduate of Manhattan College, Columbia University, and UCLA, he holds master degrees in civil engineering and business administration.
